After a slow day on the Chick it was time to get busy!
I looked at the Nick TVA info and noticed they dropped the level a foot in a few hours, so I went there.
One boat fishing and I launched at 730.
Got on a hot spot and started crappie fishing.
No crappie, but 2 small bass hit my jig, so I picked up a poppin image and had bass on my first 14 casts!
biggest was 2.5 and the rest were smaller schoolies.
The current spit me out on the big side of the lake and the fish tired of my little popper, so I tied on a Jimmy in sexy shad that I bought when Academy opened.
Just hoping the H2o lure would work.
It did. The bass bite slowed and I got back to crappie.
I wore out my outlaw and went to glue a blue ghost on. Nothing!!!!!!
Then I added a tail light and it was on for the crappie. The flow had finally stopped and most fish were caught on a tight line straight down.
Never had more than 2 thumps. the rest were lifted and heavy then I set the hook and they were on.
I finished with going back to Bass. I had 4 5lb+ fish and a 7.5 kicker!
Totaled 38 Bass and 18 crappie with only 3 throwbacks there.
Most bass were small, but at least half were over 1.5 and better.
I had a double hook up and could have had more as I slowed down reeling the fish in and the others would hop on and then off.
Went home at noon as the bite started back up. And yes I was tempted, but it was getting too hot for me and I had a good day already!

FUN day
I hope ya'll have that kind of day too emoAngler
Maybe I can find a partner for tomorrowemoGeezer

emoCool
