well, i'm headin' out for whidbey island tomorrow for 7 or 8 days of salmon fishing in the sound. we'll focus on kings through the 31st until it closes, then start the slaughter on the silvers and humpies. i've got family up there, and so far, they've been really successful. hopefully i'll have a freezer full of fish and some pics to share!!

Good luck to you over there. We got back from Sekiu a few weeks ago and had a great time. Made even better in that Lunddude from this site joined us with his very cool new Lund. We had a great time, catching kings in the morning and then slapping on the pink gear later in the morning. If you had to wait more than 5 minutes for a pink, you were in the wrong area. They were slapping the hoochie even before we could begin to drop it on the downrigger!! 6 million of them out there. They are still nailing them out there, even though many are all the way into Seattle. We tried two new king lures with good success. The new "Tailwagger" by Silver Horde worked great, and the Ace Hi-Fly also did great. You might want to try them. The Tailwagger is also referred to as a Hoochie Hooker. Put a little herring Smelly Jelly on it, and on the Hi-Fly we put a herring strip. Take a big cooler; there are that many pinks out there. I attached a picture of one of the several kings we caught.
