East Canyon - Could not leave EC with the bass having the upper hand last time. Arrived at the pullout after the dam and before the state park. We fished the cove from 8am to 10am. I was on a toon and my twin was banktangling. I got 6 SMB's and lost 2 but I snagged a branch dragged it across my spot and it was like someone turned a light switch off. My twin got 2 SMB's, 3 or ours were released unharmed (aside from the hooking). I got mine on a 4 inch swimtail in cinnamon with black Flks color riged weedless with Gulps Crawfish spray. My twin was using a senko worm in changeable craw color rigged wacky.
None were giants by any means but I loved what a worker at SW said "those EC smallies like to THINK they are big!" I could not agree more with that. Still waking up early is always rewarding when you catch something rather than nothing. We got back into the valley just in time to teach our martial arts class by noon. Play hard, work hard, and then play even harder! 8)
My twin's (evil tye dye) SMB from EC. It was 9.5 inches but fat enough to make him happy.
