Mark and I had an uncharacteristic day off today so we decided to hit Starvation. Great idea. A little wind started out the day around 7 am as we hit the water at bunny gulch. I had the first fish a small but fat yellow perch. Followed up with four more. Then decided to try to find some bass. Over the radio I heard Mark cry out that he had caught a smallmouth, followed by a perch. Then next thing I heard was that he had caught his first walleye (he said it was about a 9 incher). He ended the day having to row back to shore around noon after he drained his battery. I came in almost dead as well for we had to fight some mighty wind. Mark caught a few more while wading from shore. I got into some more dink perch after I moved around earlier in the day. We both tied on one of TD's chartreuse and red sparkle jigs (Oh I need some more of those[Smile]) I hooked into something rather large in the shallows and it decided to take me for a ride as it headed for deeper water peeling line off my reel. Once I got close to the fish I noticed how large it was and how brown it was. CARP!!!! After having a feisty tug of war and finally a break off as I neared it I headed out for more fun. I hooked into one of the starvation steelies. Smaller than I am used to for that lake but still fun to catch on a fairy wand. I ended the day out wading along MaDfisher55 and caught two smallies. SO I slimed out for the day a little different than I had actually wanted but still fun. Sorry no pics today, was having too much fun to play with the camera.[cool]

Good post. The carp are a blast to tangle with. With a little guidance you could have used the carp to tow you instead of your motor!

It was pulling out so much line I acually had to use the motor to chase it down. I was only using 8 lb test trilene.
