Hey guys,

I'm looking to get a new camera to take fishing. I know there is a million choices. Can anyone recommend a good, small camera that has worked well for fishing pics?

A waterproof one!!!!

We use a pentex (I think 300 or something) that is waterproof.

We also have a Cannon Rebel that is AWESOME! Not waterproof though so we rarely take it out with us.

I use one of the small cannon power shots it is 10.0 mega pixels so takes nice pictures. It is NOT however water proof or even water resistant for that matter. It fits nicely in a shirt pocket ( I suggest one with a button flap) If you bend over your camera will hit the drink. Mine happens to be a cannon power shot SD790 I am sure they have upgraded by now but that would get you in the ball park. It is a nice little point and shoot camera, takes great pics and doesnt break the bank. Mine has a leatherr case made to go on your belt. Anyway thats what I use, but there are hundreds of choices

I have the fuji xp waterproof, SHOCKPROOF camera. I emphasize the shockproof because i seem to drop it a lot while fishing.

Works like a charm. I've been able to take a picture of nearly every fish i've caught this year, even in the rain. It was only 150, so a heck of a deal.

I looked at the Olympus and Fuji. Bought the Olympus. Nice to not have to worry about the elements ruining your camera.

I just hosted a fishing competition and purchased Vivitar Vivicam 5.1 MP digital cameras that worked really well. I mainily purchased this camera because it was inexpensive and took good quality pictures and in the event that it accidently was dropped in the water I wouldn't be out a ton of money. I always keep it in a ziploc bag when it wasn't being used.

I bought more cameras that were used in the competition and still have some unopened. I just added a KSL add for them. Check it out if you are interested:

I bought a 10MP Kodak easy share c180 for around $80. Its a good little camera that is easy on batteries. I just saw another one in an ad for the same price at Shopko, this one is a 14mp Kodak M22, with 4x zoom.

I've been taking a gopro and shooting pics and video. Waterproof and nearly indestructible in its case. I've never had so much fun!

I have sold a few of the new Kodak Sport Waterproof Camera and folks seem to be happy with them.
