Had to do it, I can't resist the chance to get in on a boil! My wife and I got there around five and started looking, no surface action so we trolled south from the south marina. Nada. Motored over to the light pole area. Nada. Headed back south and the wife dragged in, literally, a 16" walleye. Kept going around the south end and ended up at the corner by the pig farm about 8pm and found what we were looking for, BOILS! they didn't stay up very long so we chased a few splashes before she hooked into a whopper 21" tank that got a couple good runs on her. Kept chasing and I finally got on the board with a chunky 22"er. We ran into Wiperhunter2 and casted into the same area for a few minutes only to part ways and chase other boils. The wife hooked into another good one but lost him at the boat, but oh well, we found what we were looking for and have a good fish fry coming![inline 100_2146.JPG]

Nice Job. Those are some good looking fish. What did you use to catch them in the boils? [Smile]

I had my wife hooked up with a 1/4oz kastmaster and she caught one when I didn't with a berkley shad crank so I switched to the kastmaster and picked up my fish.

Thanks for the report - sounds like fun fights. Nice fish. Looks like you couldn't wipe that grin off if you tried!
But the really important question is - how were the bugs!

Mind if I ask - what "flavor" Kastmaster? Did it have the fluffy tail? I've heard some folks like to change out the trebles on those for a heavier hook. I gather Wipers might like to straighten those pups out once in a while.

Nice going. Wonder how Curt did?
Might just need to get my bottom bouncers down there. Zook Zook!
Bet it's gonna be a madhouse in the campgrounds this weekend.
Good to see you again Matt and meet your wife. Looked like your wife was having fun, were those her first wipers? After we left the area we saw you, we headed over to Freeway bay and really got into the wipers up against the shore. I think we caught 10 or 11 and the boil went on for 20 or 30 min. what a blast. We also saw Catman and Wildcat at the launch. I sure hope the cold front coming in doesn't ruin the fishing tomorrow[:/].

They were the blue/silver flavor with no fluff on em. Yeah, nice to see you again, sorry if we crowded you a bit, boil fever has a tendency to take a hold on me!

No they were not her first wipers, they were her third and fourth but she said she's officially converted to wiper fishing and especially boil fishing! I've gotta get back out there!!

Oh, and the bugs were nearly non-existent out on the lake

Nice job buddy! me and catman fished it last night, we started off in the wrong place but later found the boils and were able to pick up 7. Headed out again tonight to see if we can find em! Not sure how its gonna be with the wind we have had but oh well gotta give it a try
