The striper fishing at Powell is very similar to Mead. Listen closely.

Thanks for posting - great video! I hope a lot of people see this, and listen real good, about rushing up on a boil.

We got into one of those hour long boils last week at Mead. It was amazing, and quite unbelievable. During the boil, which was spread out all around our boat, some jerk came flying up full speed, right in the middle of it, grabbed his pole, cast twice, then turned around and left. Really dude, thanks alot! Needless to say, we had some choice words and finger action for him!

But, we still had a blast. Took our cooler home with a bunch of nice stripers, had friends over for a fish fry.

Don't know if we'll ever be in a boil that lasts that long again, but I'm keeping my fingers crossed!

So if they estimate 12 to 13 million stripers in Powell, what's a guesstimate in mead??? Couldn't find a answer online any where... I would think a considerably amount more but maybe not being lake mead gets fished more...[:/]

I don't mind saying - we were headed to 33 hole when we saw it. We launched out of Boulder Harbor, after making the left turn heading to 33 hole, it was about 1/2 mile down, on the North side, not far from shore. It was before you get to Government Wash. We also fished some smaller boils, heading across from BH, towards the damn, right smack out in the middle. They didn't last long though.

The last time we went out of Echo Bay, about a month ago, we fished a couple of boils there too, not far from the marina. We headed out, turned right, and found our first boil right there. So, I know there's some action there too, just doesn't seem to be as much.

I read the guesstimate for Mead was 10 million, but I don't know how dated it is.
