Polo and I were IM each other on Facebook yesterday and he asked me if I wanted to go fishing this morning. Guess what my answer was. That's like asking Freida if she wants a slice of bacon. <br /><br />Anyhoo, we started out fishing a deep roadbed. Nada. Then we moved to a dock on the river channel. Nada. Then we moved to another dock on the river. Nada. Then we moved to Petticoat Junction and on the first cast, I landed a nice smallmouth bass. We scratched around there and found crappie in a very tight spot. We caught a couple and then lost the spot. We fished all around PJ and the fish were only in one spot about the size of 55 gallon barrel. And deep to boot. That makes for very tough catching.<br /><br />Then we fished TW for bass at one spot. Nada. Then we moved to vertical structure to crappie fish and there were small bass hitting minnows on top, so out came the TW lures again and we each caught a Largemouth bass on our first cast. It was the Lone Ranger and his sidekick Tonto, cause there were no more bass bites. So we picked up crappie rods again and Polo caught a nursery crappie, so we moved on to another dock. We landed a few more crappie there including the big crappie of the day 13.5 incher for me. I thought at first that it was a tarp, but was 1/2 inch short. emoBang It's gonna be hard to catch the KID on the tarps this year if they don't start growing and biting better for us. emoBig <br /><br />Wind got up and Polo had to quit, but we stopped at Petticoat Junction for one final cast and I caught another thowback crappie. Morning over. I enjoyed the ride. I found out that it doesn't take near as long to get upriver in Polo's boat as it does in mine. Of course, the wind was about to turn my jaws inside out. emoBig I think that secretly, Polo, would love to be a Nascar driver. emoUp emoGeezer
