There are two types of fishermen: those who fish for sport, and those who catch something. If I am like most, I get my fair share of both worlds. I practice catch and release as well as catch and eat. I enjoy fishing for trout, bass, cats, and panfish in fresh water. Whenever possible I do get the flies wet too. I enjoy C&R for sharks and rays in the saltwater. What do you like?????????

Hey there tubeN2,

If there is a flowing, collecting, pooling, dripping, rushing, gushing, tide movement, or standing water I will be tempted to fish it!

I try to stay within a mile or so of a fishable body of water otherwise...... withdrawal symptoms begin to appear. Just in case.... I have rods at the ready in the den, garage, storage shed, bedroom, truck, and car.

Ummm, I don't fish for sport or the table. I fish as a hobby. Nothing sporty about it. It's my relaxation time.

I'm the type of fisherman who's catching fish when you're just catching sticks.[Tongue]

I wish....

I fish for everything, everywhere.Lots of trout, then walleyes, bass, pike, salmon in canada, love ice fishing for wallys, perch, trout.I just got back from the Wind River Mtns in Wyoming and caught 50 of 80 trout on dry flies.I take the wife on vacation to Mexico every winter and the ocean fishing is amazing. My in-laws live in Bend,OR.and when we visit I go steelhead fishing on the Deschutes river with metal.I love eating fish and I do kill some of them.I have a nice boat and a belly boat.I use egg sacs, worms, minnows, rapalas, metal, nymphs, drys, trolling, drifting, some snagging.Whatever it takes!

Looks like there are a few types out there. I'm sure there are more. Try ad share with us. We would like to know. Thanks for any input.

I'm the guy that's not catching anything because I'm too busy telling everybody else my "fish stories".

I'm the kind of fisherman that's sitting on the hood of my truck watching everybody else fish, bucket in hands and once in a while, running down to the crowd and yelling, "Here fishy, fishy, fishy! Jump in my bucket! Come now, fishy!" And I run back to my truck laughing hysterically.

I'm the kind of fisherman that's too busy getting back in the boat because I accidently dropped my fishing pole in and dove in after it.

I'd guesstimate that I'm in three worlds then. I practice C&R, catch and eat and fish for relaxation. Then there are times when I simply sit beside the river and contemplate the world situation at large. I do not believe that there is a better way to relax than watching rushing water or a mirror-smooth lake. While the younger generation is busy rushing around, trying to find their place in this world, us older generation have already figured out where we're going, where we've been and what it takes to reach the end -- a prime fishing spot. While we're philosophizing, which cane first, the fish or the egg?

[cool]Hey johnincolorado,

You have got that right. If you are in a great setting, sometimes it doesn't matter whether or not you catch anything. Here is a pic of a lake in upstate NY that I use to fish as a young boy/man. October's weather starts the beginning of the folliage being painted by Jack Frost.

I dreamt about fishing one night. I had spent nearly two full days standing on the same fishing dock, talking to the regulars at that location. After two days and my skin getting nicely tanned, leaving me with some major tan-lines, I went to bed rather exhausted, a bit under-nourished, and dehydrated.

After eating a couple burritoes from Taco Bell and guzzling about a half-gallon of water, I went to bed. That night, all I saw were bobbers being pulled under water and bluegills and crappies being pulled out of the water.

When I woke up the next morning, I grabbed my fishing gear, loaded up the car, and started driving to the lake again. Then I realized it was Monday. So I turned around and went to work and day-dreamed about fishing all day.
