Decided after reading another post about Provo Harbor that I would give it a try. I think I'm only 5 miles away why not. I just finished another mod on the tube and it would be a quick way to test it out.

Got there about 6:00, got my stuff together, and made the walk down the South Dike. Found a good place and launched. Slowly made my way out of the inlet along the reeds. As I got closer to looking around the reeds and seeing the rest of the lake I decided I had better stay back for a little while. Caught a nice whitie while waiting for the waves to calm down a bit.[inline "UL WHITIE.jpg"]
About 20 minutes later the sun decided to come out and play and it seemed the breeze and the waves had calmed down a bit. Around the corner of the weeds I went. Wasn't too long and I had another whitie. Then it was nothing but small hits and no hookups after that. I wandered around in the weeds for about an hour with no luck. I looked across the lake and decided it was time to move in. The lake was only going to get worse.

I rounded the corner and instantly noticed the change in water temps. Brrrr it got cold. I slowly motored my way in untill i see this little bounce bounce. Pulled out the pull and then BENDO!!!! I knew it was a good fish but had no idea what it was. I got it to my tube and it took a dive. All I say was a big white underbelly. Still wasn't sure what it was yet. Finally got its head to take a peek at me and I grinned right back at him. It was a big ole Walleye. YES! Then I remembered I forgot my net. Panic mode was setting in. I need to get this thing one my new work table. Grabbed him right behind the gills and brought him in. Ahhhhhhhhh I can relax now. Measured him up on the board 24 inches! twice as big as any walleye I have ever caught before. This was the only pic I could get of him before I put him in the basket. [inline "UL EYE.jpg"]
I tried for a little while longer but decided that what I had was good enough. My new table top worked well. With only 3 hours on the water it was a good day. Thanks go to TheCarDoctor. Sorry I had to go out to that area in hopes of a crappie. But this walleye will do.

Anyone know a good walleye recipe? I have never cooked one before.

Nice One! It is pretty close in size to the one my Dad caught; maybe they were twins.

I grilled our walleye last night. I just melted some butter and added garlic and lemon pepper to taste. I cut the fillet in half so it would fit in my grilling basket and coated both sides. I put it on the grill and every time I turned it I'd brush on some more garlic butter. It turned out pretty good.
