I went out shooting this last week and shot my two pistols. I own both a 9mm and .40 S & W. I found that I am very accurate with the .40 but for some reason the 9mm I am all over the place, yet I shoot the same with both weapons. Any good reason for this phenomenon? [Image: dumb.gif]
And both pistols are built by the same manufacturer if interested to know.

is there a difference in barrel length?
[signature]
Yes there is. by about 1 inch at least.

that would have a lot to do it. When your barrel is only 4" to begin with adding or taking an inch greatly shortens the distance between your front and rear sights making it much easier to be off by a bit which translates to inches at 15 yards. My cousins 6" revolver is MUCH more accurate at 20 yards than my 4" XD, the difference is in the barrel length

That is interesting and good to know. Sounds like I need to go practice some more.

Barrel length can be an issue on sighting etc.

The truth is though that some guns just aren't very accurate. If it were me I would get the gun anchored down on sandbags and see what it can do. Sand bagging in a pistol can be a little harder, but if you brace the gun up really well and it still doesn't shoot worth a dang . . . sell it on KSL and try again.

Who is the maker?

It is a hi point c9. I read some really good reviews on this pistol. And I already had the. .40 s&w by hi point that I really liked as well. I need to spend some more time on the range and see what I can do.

By "some guns" I mean a specific gun. Not the model. The hi point does have some very good reviews. But every now and then almost every maker builds a lemon on accident.

Good luck with it!

I talked with a friend of mine who is a gun smith. He thinks it might be the trigger. His son bought one of these 9mm and did some changes to the trigger. Now it shoots really nice. I will take it to him and make the changes and see what happens from there. I did notice the trigger was really stiff compared to the .40 too.

Trigger pull can really effect a guns accuracy. Particularly with a pistol. Hope that helps you. Let me know [Smile]
