Fair fishing last weekend on Little Payette Lake. The bass and muskies are not numerous and it's nearly all catch and release (bass must be over 20", muskies over 40"). One of the muskies took a Heddon River Runt Spook that's been in my tackle box for over fifty years.

That's awesome!!
I've never fished Little Payette lake. Is there any restrictions on boats with motors?? I couldn't find any in the regs.
I just might have to try that the next time I go to my cabin in Cascade.

I have seen boats with small motors so there may be a size restriction. Not sure.
Be sure to use barbless hooks and have pliars handy. It's no fun releasing a musky otherwise.
We should all be using barbless hooks all the time anyway.

Nice pics! It has been over 10 years since I last fished the Little Payette. Looks like the muskies they've stocked over the past dozen years or so are being kept pretty happy with the thousands of little Kamloops that get fed to them every year!

Sounds like a plan for next year. I'm all for it!!!!! [cool]
