I have a club tournament and I haven't fished there since April. I usually flipped the trees but hear the waters down. I'm probably going to crank the weed lines. Does anyone know whats working there location and technique wise. Thanks

That said... I have been fishing Lowell all summer and I was there last Saturday. The weed line is pretty much crapped out. There was only about a foot or less of water on the weed line and we didn't pick up a single fish. There was 3-4 feet of water on it the week before and we did pretty good. I would imagine that the water level will be lower still.
I think the fish are mostly stacked up on the equalizer. I didn't fish it last week because the fishermen were stacked up on the equalizer too.

I keep hearing about the equalizer, but where is this? I haven't been out on the lake since the water went below the smartweed a couple weeks ago, but I was thinking about heading out there in the morning, not real sure if its worth my time though. I usually only fish the south side or around the lower dam in my float tube.

heard of someone hammering them in one spot. more than 40. just look for the other fishing boats and apparently thats where the fish are. the equalizer is where everyone fishes at the narrow part between dams. i'm not a lowell fan (only in the trees) but be ready for people at that spot.

Thats kinda the area I was figuring it was due to the amount of boats there. I think I'll look for somewhere with some weeds still in the water on the south side. Worst case scenario I get to hand out at the lake and practice casting all morning. Still sounds alright to me as long as its not too windy.

it was ok. Lots of short fish, lots of perch and crappie. I fished mostly crainkbaits and some jigs and dropshot. We only fished the equalizer for a couple minutes. It was full of boats and we were only pulling perch off it. The guys who did better sat in one spot and dead sticked, but I would get bored doing that. We fished the north shore before the no wake zone and seemed to get into fish 2 or 3 at a time then it would stop. Big fish for the group was 2 10. Guys I talked to later said white spinnerbaits in the morning were really good, but I learned that a little late in the day.

Was the North shore really shallow?

Lots of the structure is out of the water and some is just under the surface. We were sitting in 4 to 12 feet most the day.

I fished the south side from my tube Wed. and Thurs. Fish are still there, but it has slowed quite a bit. Found them at the edge of what is left of the weeds. Water was only about 3 feet deep and were mostly found at the places where the weeds came to a point. Still had some nice fish, one was 18 inches and a few 16's mixed in. Just watch out for those thunder storms, one caught me about 200 yards from the put in and I was kicking as fast as I could in the pouring rain. My mistake i guess, but when the fish are biting you just don't want to leave.
