I am looking for some ideas on tying a deep running walleye fly either perch, crawdad or crappie patterns.
Love to see some of your ideas.

I can not remember it's name but picked up a few the other week. It is crawdad color but essentially it is a BIG wooly bugger with a few tweaks here and there with a huge pointy bead head on it. It is heavy and runs deep for sure. I will try and remember to take a picture of it and send it to you. There are some cool crawdad patterns for sure I have looked at this summer. Crawbug or crawcandy Definately find a fly shop that that is all they do and you will find some.

I made this perch imitation up a while back. [inline "perch fly small.JPG"] I made it more for tiger muskie and bass, but I'd imagine the walleye would eat it too. I also made it in some other color variations.[inline "crappie fly small.JPG"] It's not really a deep fly by itself, but I fish it on a sinking line and it ends up being sort of like a suspending jerk bait. My best walleye of all time hit a little #8 brown mohair leech however. Clousers should work well too I would imagine.
