Got there at 730am jumped in the tube...threw on a wacky senko and first fish on almost instantly it was a 12" ish smb.. not a trophy but a good first fish. got a few more nibbles in hte same spot but no hookups. Then as fast as it started it stopped i got nothing for about an hour. I getting bored so i put on a small black jig and had some fun with the baby bass and perch. After i was done picking on the little guys i went back to the sencko still wacky rigged. moved to another spot and started geting bites... more perch[frown] most of them were so small they would just hang on to the 5" senko then let go at the last second. but managed to hook a few. But the in got exciting!! i was just to side of a submerged bush and just jigging the senko and WHAMO!!! Muski!! but i lost it[pirate] only had it on for about 10 seconds but it was still awesome!! soon after that i pack it up had to get to work..

Even thiugh i lost that TM it was a good day.

Man, it sure sounds like your following in my previous year's footsteps especially with the musky. Next step is to have a musky try to steel your bass, Doesn't sound like things have changed much. Now we got to find where they are, right? [Wink] They keep saying fish deeper around bait pods and structure. Don't know how a tuber can do this w/o fish finders, etc.. I'm just too old fashioned, still do the search and destroy w/o any help but my best guess and previous knowledge of areas. Will probably try again late this week and will publish a report. Still would like to find a way to fish Cemetery on the N.side w/o paying a fee. PM??? Just a little begging. [frown]

Glad to see that Pineview is producing SOME action again. Lots of disappointed anglers up there lately. How did you loose the musky? Did she unbutton or did she break the line? Thanks for your post.

I don't think i had him hooked very well. I steped down my hook size because i was getting alot of snags and i hadn't hooked into anything big all day. It was only in about 6' of water and as soon as he hit the surface he let go.live and learn...

Oh man it is just when you do that, the big one strikes! I have caught one on the same rig you used. Try setting the hook next time like you would a bass. Trust me their mouths are tuff and the hook will not come flying out. I used a size 2 hook with the wacky rig when I caught one. 6 feet of water...no wonder people catch them from shore. Good luck next time.

You just need to get TD to pimp you out with all kinds of PVC contractions! Maybe a PVC cupholder for Sparky to carry a ball around with.

As my battery was getting low - I found if I cranked up the motor, my fishfinder shutdown. Thought I was having wiring or short-problems, but I think they just didn't want to share the load.

Must say - for tracking activity at Willard - sure is helpful - can see where those schools of shad are, and the blips that are busy feeding on them (and ignoring ME!). But also often frustrating to spot up whole schools, but get nothing biting. Lockjaw-itis!

So what are the fees at the View? And do they accept the Parks Pass? I've learned Mantua is off on it's own - but I really oughta try to get my money's worth out of that thing.

The fee for Cemetery Point is $11 and no a state parks pass doesn't work there. Spring Creek area has 2 pullouts and no ramps but no fee's either. There are 2 pullouts along the south side along the highway and they are free as well but still no ramps.

I could be mistaken but when I ice fished on the North side of the lake I used my State Parks pass. Although there was nobody was in the booths back then.

You should ask for a finder for Christmas [Smile] Having one on my tube has seriously helped me out when all the good fish are holding deep. My fish finder has seriously salvaged many a slow day for me this summer. On a side note, I got into some good jerkbait action a little shallower the other day on one of our favorite lakes. It was a nice change from precision drop shotting along a steep drop.
