I just got a text message from a friend of a spawning Kokanee that he claims was in Pali

es creek. He swears he is telling the truth. Has anyone ever heard of kokanee spawning below the dam? maybe one got flushed through and tried the closest stream it could find?

There are Kokes below pali

es just like there are Mack's. A few do go through the dam and remain in the river for a few miles below the dam. Nothing unusual about it and they have been in there for many, many years.

That is pretty cool. I bet it was fun and surprising to see a nice red kokanee up in the creek.
Was it by itself?

He only saw 1 and said that it was in full spawn. I knew that there were mack's in the SF because i have caught a few but they are always really skinny.
As far as kokes go it makes sense there would be a few that filter through but more interesting if there actually ended up being reproduction. i'm guessing that there isn't enough to make a difference though.
