Guess all you need for a trophy fish is a houseboat. Tribune report on 30-pound striper.

Never underestimate the power of luck when fishing.

Trolling behind a houseboat 6 MPH with an 8" jig. Happened to be out on the deck when this monster hit. Imagine the disappointment to come out and find all your line gone! If they weren't on the deck when this one hit, it may have happened.

Here's a link to a more detailed story http://www.wayneswords.com/index.php/201...les-canyon

Thanks for posting the link to that detailed report. 6mph trolling, who would have imagined that on a fresh water lake. I know of one member that use to troll at 4mph at Willard for wipers and I thought that was crazy but maybe crazy like a fox would be a better statement.

When I kayak fished more, I would usually drag a crankbait behind me while heading to and from location. I averaged 4 mph, and regularly caught stripers and smallmouth (in Mead).

How bout this hog? Don't know the guy so I covered his face to protect the inocent. From what I hear the smaller Striper got caught in its gills and killed the bigger fish... so I hear anyway

[cool][#0000ff]The small fish is not another striper. It is a big honkin' gizzard shad.[/#0000ff]
