Got to the state park at about 730 and launched the boat into the fog. Got to a good spot and started throwing lures while my brother and his buddy floated some worms. Got into a couple bass both small and large mouth. Hooked into a good one but it came unbuttoned at the boat. Oh well maybe next time. We all caught a fair amount of fish and had a good time so it was a day well spent. of course any day catching fish is a day well spent.

Thanks for posting your report DGW, sounds like a fun trip. Any trout caught? How was the power squad, have their numbers slowed down with the cooler temps?

We didn't catch or see anyone catching any trout actually. But we spoke to a gentleman as we were loading up to come home who said he was tripping with pop gear and picking up some bows between 12 to 15 inches. As for the power squad, they were out in full force once the sun came out and it warmed up. It was so busy at the ramp I had to wait for about 5 maybe 10 minutes just to load my boat. There were so many everywhere you looked one was ripping through wallsburg at full speed which is a wakeless area and another was just tied off to a buoy and had the radio at full blast while the occupants were drinking beer and being a display of public embarrassment. What's worse were the little boys running wild on the boat watching all of this. But I do my best not to complain and enjoy my time on the water. The rest of the lake was over run with power boats. And once they started is when the bite really died down for us. We left not to long after we were almost taking on water from wakes caused by the inconsiderate people who have to show me there boat is big fast and shiny while buzzing my boat and every other smaller boat (mainly fisherman) at full speed. Decided to call it a day happy with what we had got.
