Good Morning

Well it's my goto place. It sure treats me right. The walleye weren't hanging out on the point when I was there. I did catch one on a tube jig with a worm, but then I switched to my fly rod with a craydad fly on it and landed my first legal bass[cool]

I need to thank the tooner, if he does the forum, cause he inspired me to get the fly rods out and try some things. The greatest joy of the day was I picked up 5 nice 9-10" crappie on one of the points with the fly rod[cool] I have been trying for a while to find crappie that were willing to play with me.

While I was moving a round with the gas motor I had on a big heavy currly tail on the spinning rod and hooked up with a beautifull trout, Ifigured might have gone 2#. She had the most beautifull blue back. I messed up trying to net her cause right at the boat she took a dive under the boat as I was trying to net her and she shook off. That blue is so rich in color.

Need to figure out if I can slow my 4hp merc down a little cause the slowest I can get it to go is around 3.4 mph on my 12ft Starcraft, (determined by my GPS thanks Idahoron for suggesting I get one). Not sure what to do if it won't run slower. Don't know if they make a trolling plate for that small a motor and a drift sock would just be asking for trouble.

Another great find or recovery was one of TD's jigs that was lost in the back of Norton Bay. I had marked the spot by land marks. Since the reservoir is dropping but is still higher than in the spring, amazing, I motored right over to where I thought it was and waled right over to the brush that was holding it for me. those ultra minnows are awesome! I love how the stay horizontal even with a worm on. I had a day last year that was the only lure that worked and I caught all species on it (except for the crappie). Now as the water keeps dropping I have some other lures to continue to try to recover[Wink]

Water temp was 65 and most of my fish were in around 20' water[fishin]

I'm not sure if it'll do the trick for your boat, but you could always try attaching 1 or 2 5 gallon buckets to the back of your boat. I'm not sure if it works better or if its easier to have them on the side or back of the boat or with any sort of lengh of rope or straight off.
