Hey all,

I need some info on camping at the berry. I will be fishing the Haws Point area and think it is Day use only. I would like to camp near the waters edge, but think that it is not allowed in this area. If not...: Is there somewhere else near by that I would be able to set up a tent? Is camping allowed above the paved road for free..as in not near the water side of the road? Any advice would be great, I would just like to stay as close as possible to the area we will be fishing each day.

Thanks ahead of time.

Camping next to the Lake......not any more. I am assuming you are talking about Strawberry. Really does suck too as I thought that land was BLM. We use to camp in a small clearing right next to the Renegade bay.
It was great. Walk about 90 feet and there was the water.
Camped there for two years, then the third year noticed a sign..."No overnight Camping"!!!!!

I really wish there were more Pontoon/small boat friendly waters/camp sites, where you can beach your boat right by your camp, but they seem to be disappearing.

Ok, so that confirms that I cannot camp near the water....bummer! I may just come back out of Haws Point road and find some place up a little higher and put the tent there.

Thanks

I will have to look closer and see when we go. I think it was a day use only area. I love the area and it would be cool to camp there, but I think that it may be a day only area. I asked Kent a bit earlier today and he had the same Idea as goddess...that you can camp above the road (non lake side of the main paved road).
