Nice pics, bug. If you don't mind missin' out on a lunker, creek fishin' can be a blast.

There's a li'l creek I fish here in southeast Idaho that serves up pint-sized cutts as fast as you can catch 'em. Every once in a while we might luck out and hook into a 14- or 15-incher, but most specimens are under 10. Still, it's a lot of fun because we quickly lose count.

Nice report. You have a couple of nice ones there, but, in my mind, on secluded creeks, its the overall experience, not necessarily the size of the fish. Looks like great little places to spend quality time!

Absolute fun! I see I need to get back out there soon!

you know i have caught some huge fish (sturgeon over 8 ft long) but nothing beats the fun of sneaking up on spooky trout in a clear mountain stream in my opinion. knowing that you may be the only person who sees that trout in its lifetime and being surrounded by the beauty of God's great creations is a near spiritual experience

Agreed.

Just to be clear, I wasn't denigrating the size of your fish, bug. Rather, I was trying to say that, though it's easy to get succumb to "lunker fever," there's something to be said for fishing a creek from which you catch so many fish, you quickly lose count.

Another plus of small water is the tactical aspect--being able to see and present a hole that you might otherwise overlook. I'm 37 years old and I still giggle with self-satisfied delight when I pull a hungry parr from an unassuming little eddy.
