Hit pineview yesterday (Sept. 29) in my kayak for bass. tried jigging for a little bit. then trolled with a rapala. ( Didn't pick up anything besides a 3 in. fish the size of my rapala. Am I just using to small of a lure? Cause I have only caught lil' guppies.

A 3" rapala will catch just about every fish in Pineview... from perch to tigers.
If you are targeting bass specifically, I would stick to jigging. Find flooded brush out away from the shoreline (I think they may start moving deeper about right now), rocky points, etc. Natural colored 3.5" to 4" tube jigs with a 1/8 or 1/4 oz head will catch fish. Maniac salt sticks and reapers are also good choices.

I had some trouble at Da View yesterday too. I caught one 8" perch and my partner caught a 8" perch and a 12" Smallie. That's it. I completely agree with flycasting's advice. The smallies love those tube jigs.

I fished PV twice this week I can't seem to find the "bigger" bass but ive had a lot of luck with a chartreuse and white senko. Texas rigged with no weight. My girl was catching perch like crazy today on small bright colored jigs.

Let me know when your going again. we can try to meet up.

hey thanks for the advice. I haven't had much experience with jigging so what I have done is to try for 7 min. and switch to a rapala.[:p] (its my bad habit.)

I have been putting on a 3 in. brownish colored grub texas rigged weedless. but I didn't know they were farther out from shore thats interesting. maybe I will hit it again this week.

thanks again.

and hell! I though you were going to tell us another swimmer had been runover by a ski-boat!

I presume the powersquad has chilled out - as the water chills? Might be time for a 'fall venture'.
There still out....I was there yesterday. More boats then i expected for a weekday morning. I actually think kids were off of school for a holiday or something. There were families all over the place as soon as it warmed up around 10am.
