Sept 30, 2011, Lake Guntersville Fishing Reports – Yesterday morning, Aaron and Kathy Zimmerman from North Kentucky joined me on their first visit of many to Lake Guntersville. Then in the afternoon Chris from Vicious Fishing stopped in for a few hours of top water fishing. We fished the Mid-lake area out of Goose Pond. The fish are more active for the first two hours and last 3 hours of the day. They are holding up in scattered grass, some of our best fish came in 3-8 FOW just off the mats. Most fish where in the 1-3 pound range with an occasional 3.5-5 pound fish. Water temps are still in the low-mid 70’s for the most part. Our better fish came on Assassinator buzz baits (Black and Red), Assassinator Clacker spinner baits and Spooks. We also caught fish on, swim baits, Sammy’s and El Grande Sapo Frogs. Versatility is/will be key in the next few weeks as we transition into the fall bite. We’re still seeing a good daily average of 25-40 fish. Special thanks go out to Vicious Fishing and welcome as the official line sponsor of Mid South Bass Guide. I have the days available in October and we’re already booking November! Make your reservations now for some great action on Guntersville, Nickajack or Tim’s Ford.
