My fishing partner had to cancel today so I headed down to the River about 1:30 to try for some Smallies. Had pretty good flow with 4 generators running. Found some fish busting bait on top and worked them over awhile. Should have done a lot better, but sometimes they just would not hit anything I threw.<br /><br /> Caught 3 SM and a couple of spots and 3 LM. Also hooked a 15# Drum that put up a strong fight in the heavy current. One SM on a Sammy, and the others on Dropshot Gulp minnow. Spots and LM caught on a variety of baits, tube, sammy, fluke, and popping cork/spoon, and swimbait. Felt like I should have caught a lot more. Did loose 1 big fish SM at least 5# on a Sammy. That second jump did me in again. Most of the fish came out of shallow( 6-8&#39 water where they were feeding heavily on shad.
