Okay.
So I was out looking at some boats at some shops here and some reps were talking about the two stroke ban going on what looks like Jan 2013. Apparently it looks like it only is banning 2 stroke PWC for now. They were pretty sure it was banning all two stroke craft. Not sure if this was because I told them I was interested in used boats. Is there any truth to this? Above is the link to the Lake Mead NAt Park site. Also with the fluctuations on the water levels where are people launching from? Will be coming from Henderson area.

[cool]I think that it goes for all two stroke motors except direct injection models. Play it safe and go with a four stroke.

I had the same question and started a thread on another forum and due to the following post and the confusion they ended up changing the NPS website. At one point the website said all two strokes, its now just two stroke PWC's. We are okay for now.

Its wrong for them to make that kind of rule.

ull be fine with a DFI 2 stroke. no carb, gotta be direct fuel injected

It looks like just pwc are out for now. it just a matter of time for them to drop the hammer on the rest of carb 2 strokers. There are some deals out there on the older two strokes. maybe just get a boat manily for the hull and repower it when they decide to ban all carb two strokers. right now its crazy hard to find a deal on the four strokes.

Undertow is right. For now, they will only bother PWC's. In the near future, you will be messed with if you have a carb'ed 2 stroke.
