I have seen and have friends that own nice fishing nets with a rubberized coating on the mesh. I have been thinking for some time now that I could probably get an inexpensive net and coat the mesh myself. I have looked online at silicone dips and other things. I have also been looking at the Plastidip rubberized spray paint. I think the Plastidip would be the easiest, and most likely the least expensive, but I just don't know if it would work.

Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated!

You might give it a try. I would think that the hardest part would be keeping things even and separate, but the spray may allow you to put it on in thin enough coats.

Also you could just replace the bag on the net. Here is one place that carries the "ghost" net bag, and there are probably others.

$17 and change at Wallyworld. Picked it up yesterday. Haven't tried it yet but near identical to the $39.99+ ones at Cabla's... Extends out same as my current cloth net for boat landing and extracts for storage.

I will agree with Cpierce...get a rubberized replacement bag. I am betting it will be about the same price as that dip. I just think you would really have to dilute the dip and the spray might not be as flexible.
