Fished willow pond this morning for some cat fish did pretty well. Caught them on homemade dough bait also on nightcrawlers. Fishing was fast and steady all morning.

Have you heard anything about Bass caught in Willow? There was word going around that it was stocked in the Summer.

I have wanted to try Willow Pond since it is so close to home, but havent yet. Do you know how often they stock it, and where do they get the cats that they stock it with?????

There are bass in it but nothing big yet. A guy told me he caught one about 12in. but i didn't see it, i have seen bass from 8in on down cruising the bank. They have been stocking the cats every 2 weeks all summer, most are 1lb. to 2lb. but there are big one's in there biggest one i caught today was about 6lb. Yesterday i had one on that i couldn't get off the bottom, i would gain 2ft. he would take 5ft. my line finally gave before he did, but thats what happens when you use 4lb. test. They just planted Mon. at midnight, the biologist was there today checking on the condition of the fish and said this was the last load of cats for the year. The next planting in 2 weeks will be trout. They get the cats from Arizona, the trout will be local.

[cool]Recommend you mix a bit of good salsa in the dough balls for those Arizona cats. We spoil 'em down here.

Salsa might be a good additive, but if i had good salsa there i might eat the dough bait.

If you ate the salsa you'd have to fish with chips....fish n chips.....
I make salsa by the gallon this time of year to make sure I've got enough to make it through the winter.....

I was just wondering, are those lovely little goldfish still thriving in their? The bass will start to thin them out. I stopped fishing out there and migrated to the 106th south ponds, just because the goldies kept stealing my worms!

Not sure what the address is but it is right by I-215 on the north side about 1000 west and about 5800 south . Welcome to the site . We also have a section that gives directions to different fishing holes but this one is not listed in it .

this is going to be a little vague but it will get you there from the N. take I-15 S. to 7200 S. get off and head W. ( right ) go to the first stop light and turn right ( here memorey get dicey ) go to the next light (maybe second ) you will know for sure when you see the golf course across the street turn left drive this street until you can turn right again along side the jordan river ( E. side )follow this road and it will take you over the 215 at which point you will see willow pond on your right as i said a little vague
