Hit the Riverpark again this afternoon after work. Perfect weather, and could not resist getting in another trip. We did our usually drop shot Gulp minnow thing and finally got a few bass tonight. Ended up boating 8 blues, 6 channels, 3 little spots (and I mean little), 2 largemouth around 13-14", 1 smallie about 15" (I lost two more on a crank at the boat), a BIG yellow stripe, 2 redbreasts that ate a crankbait, a google eye and a green sunfish. Most fish came on the drop shot but the bass came on a small crank and a pig n jig. Will got the smallie on a drop shot. Very pretty fish. We fished the flats as usual with water between 5-10 feet (water was down about 2 feet). Water temp was 73 degrees. Not a bad 3 hours on the water.
If you want to catch cats and lots of them get some Gulp minnows and pick any part of the river and start fishing. We literaly cast in all directions from the boat and catch them fishing the bank, fishing the middle of the river, etc. Lots of good eater size in the 2-8 lb range.
