The wife and I just returned from her CWMU cow elk hunt on Little Red Creek and my buddy who lives in Fruitland said that they had killed 7 lions in the last month or so in the rural community there. They were all problem lions, going after livestock and the local pets I guess. From what he told us is that they were all young cats. A couple were killed within a few hundred yards of people's homes. We had noticed that there were few deer to be seen in the surrounding fields morning or evening this past summer, could be the reason why.

I was told the problem is that the state where this took place doesn't have mountain lions. There have been a few reports of them over the years but have turned out to be other animals.

Also if a lion gets on your back there are going to be teeth marks in your neck. I don't care how big of a kid you are you are going to get bit. Not this kid, he fights it off not once but twice without a single bite mark or scratch that breaks the skin. Even his coat is hardly torn.

Just sounded a lot like the stories from a few years back about the trophy deer being taken by lions. Not once but twice.
