Water temp: 71
Clarity: Clear

Overall the bite is picking up, the past week we've boated some really big Spots. Numbers are still on the low side but if you like to fish for big fish this is a good time. We've boated at least one big Spot each trip with as many as three last Friday.

We've had to mix things up a lot to get the big fish to bite but we've made it happen. All the Spots pictured were caught on either 1/2 or 3/4 Assassinator Spinnerbaits (gold/shiner), Swimbaits, or Jerkbaits. We've also boated a few fish each day on Jig Heads and Drop Shots fished from 10ft to as deep as 50ft each day as well.

Keep a ton of rods out on the deck and keep changing. Depths, colors, shapes, just keep changing and you may be surprised what will bite.

Here's a few pics from the past few days including Scott Harden (Scott44) and 8yr old nephew David from this morning. Scott's trip this morning was a sonar lesson so we fished vertical with drop shots on our short trip and boated a handful of spots including a nice 3.5lbr Scott caught using a drop shot w/ Big Bite Shacking Squirrel "Earthworm" 40ft deep. David also caught a few on his own using the drop shot today. Great job guys and thanks again Scott! Also pictured is Angela Graham with a couple of big Spots her and husband Rick caught while with me Friday, Dexter Grindstaff with a 4lb+ Spot he caught with me on Saturday, and me with one of the healthiest Spots I've ever caught. An absolute pig that dump trucked a 3/4 Assassinator Sb in gold/shiner. I didn't weigh this fish but I'm guessing it was 5-5 & half. Also threw in a pic of a friend I met at the marina who wanted his pic taken LOL.

I have Wed and 19th and Fri 21st open next week if anyone is interested drop me a line.

Good luck on the water.

LB
