Yup - both the green slime, and the silver slime were found! Hit the water about 4pm, and mostly toodled around the edge of the "wake" zone. Lots of surface activity - a slurp here a slurp there - everywhere a slurp-slurp! Shoulda pulled out the fly rod!
Instead I pitched a silver Joe's spinner/fly - with black, chartreuse adornments. At first I sent it out bare, and got hits, then tipped with a little crawler, just for good luck - got even more.
Had a double drop - perch jig, with a spinner blade/circle hook - didn't seem to get any attention - beyond the persistent weeds! Coulda focused more on the drop-shotting, but the trout were keeping me entertained. A lot of bumps, several hookups by inexperience flippers, but did land a few - including a 14 and a 16 incher. Good shoulders - very acrobatic!
Saw a group of anglers who said they'd caught a couple Gills. Very few boats out - a couple ski-boats joined the fray, so I stayed to the sides. Worked north along the dike, but didn't find the sunset boils I'd hoped for. Lots of green slime all over the surface - wondered how the ski-bums could stand it! Water's definitely chillier.
Didn't find a bucket of Gills as I'd hope for, but had some good tugs all the same. Great weather for a cool autumn, rosy colors in the hills. Was entertained by the "light show" as Barney and Roscoe worked the roadways. At least we know they're keeping us all safe.
Today - hoping to hit the 'old stomping grounds' for some Catfishing! Maybe net up some minnows!
