[font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][#000000][size 2]The volunteer-based organization, Citizens Assisting in Resource Enforcement (CARE), invites anglers and others to stand watch over salmon spawning areas during peak runs to deter poaching and other illegal activities. Formerly known as the Riverwatch Program, this popular volunteer opportunity has been expanding throughout Michigan for several years.[/size][/#000000][/font]

[font "Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif"][#000000][size 2]CARE volunteers must attend a training session before they begin patrolling the river. Scheduled weekends are September 20-21, 27-28, and October 4-5.

it's needed indeed , i saw a couple guys " limit out with big trebels as the d.n.r. watched from the other side of the dam .
after the guys left they came over and gave my fishing partner a ticket for trespassing onto private property while standing in the water .
i was accused by a group that was there because of my bft rod ! the idea of a river watch is a good one , they just gotta get the right people doing the job .
snagging isn't legal fishing , i'll have my camera and a loud mouth to boot ! we'll get em ' busted !

YOU SHOULD HAVE SEEN A FOLLOW UP POST ANOTHER SITE REMOVED WHERE MEMBERS RIPPED ON ME FOR BEING A SNAGGER BECAUSE OF MY ROD . IT WAS TITLED " SNAGGING IS SNAGGING "

I GAVE A PROFESSIONAL RESPONCE , HOOK TYPE USED , PRESINTATIONS USED , AND GAVE AN APPOLIGY FOR GETTING THEM UPSET FOR MY NOT BEING RICH ENOUGH TO FISH AS THERE IDEA OF A FISHERMAN SHOULD BE . THE POST STRING WAS REMOVED.

I THINK IT WAS DUE TO JELOUSEY , I HAVE A BIG FISH ROD AND THEY DON'T ! LOL !

I READ THERE RIVER WATCH POSTS WHERE MEMBERS DIDN'T SEE ONE LEAGELY COUGHT SALMON AT ALL , THEN WENT DOWN TO ANOTHER POST MADE BY A MEMBER SNAGGING SALMON AND TRESSPASSING . I GUESS EVERY GROUP HAS IT'S SHADY CARACTERS .

WHO'S WATCHING THE HEN HOUSE ?

WHERE THE PROTECTION OF THESE FISHES ARE NEEDED AND THIS GROUP STEPS IN IS AWSOME , BUT , I DO NOT SEE WHERE A GROUPS GUIDELINES SHOULD BE FORCED UPON FISHERMEN WHO ARE ABIDING THE CURRENT FISHING LAWS .

IT DOSEN'T MATTER WHAT THE GUY WARES , WHAT KIND OF ROD HE HAS , WHAT METHOD HE USES , AS LONG AS IT IS LEGAL !

I WOULD SUGEST THAT ANGLERS STUDY THE CURRENT FISHING REGULATIONS AND UNDERSTAND THEM .

ALSO , KNOW YOUR RIGHTS AS A FISHERMAN STUDY ACT 451 OF 1994 .
