Made one last trip out to Rockport with my oldest son. The catching started off fast in 50 ft of water. Our first trolling pass resulted in four nice bows. Feels good to hook-up early and often. Here is the bow he caught and threw back.

A half hour later came this good liking bow that he also put back.

The action was good all day long while trolling 0.9 to 1.0 mph on the GPS.

He ended the day with fifteen and I got ten of my own. When I switched to trolling a rapala for about an hour he boated three fish while I only managed one fish on the glass minnow rapala.

Great weather but it is time to put the boat away, it's been fun.
Another nice report and pics Talyn. Looks like your son was a happy camper catching more fish than Dad[Smile]. If you don't mind me asking what lure gave your son the hot hand today?

It wasn't a lure at all, it was a worm! I've dumped a fortune into Rapala, Lucky Craft, Yo-zuri and they were out done by a nightcrawler. What I think looks good and what a fish thinks are clearly a mile apart. Yes I started using the worms also, back to basics if that is what it takes!
You got to give the fish what they want if you want to catch them[Wink]. Sometimes the bait works when nothing else will but I'm the same as you, I always try lures first.
