Well Strike finally gave up to me. I said in the past I never seem to do good on the crappies at Strike, well thats over. Saturday a friend and I went to fish and due to some work, hate that work just so you can buy a few lures, we didnt get to the reservoir until about noon. Got started and the hump was full, was not going to mess with that, so went to my usual haunts. Fishing was really slow couple of bass and nothing else. Decided to experiment, what the heck, well boy was that the right move. We got into some of the biggest crappie and perch I ever seen. Some of these crappie looked like bass. We sat down on them about 2 pm and they never quit until dark. Im not a big fish eater so I just let them go. I wish I had brought a camera these fish were huge. I would never had believed there were perch and crappie that size in Idaho. I grew up in the midwest and have seen and caught really big crappie before and caught plenty of Lake Michigan perch but these were every bit as big and girthy as any I have ever seen back there and thats saying something. Maybe God has decided I've put in my time at CJ. Going again next week (before deer hunting trip) I hope they havent gone too far.
