My girlfriend and I went Sunday as well.
Got to the hump and 9am and caught a couple right off the bat, and then couldn't buy one.. Fished 2 hours for 4 fish. Pulled anchor and went to plug for bass. I was throwing a crawdad crankbait, and my gal was tossing a plastic crawdad. Had one bite in two hours. Tried various structure/bank/trees in the narrows.
Went back to the hump and fished the deeper water off the hump. My gal caught a dozen 11+ inch crappie in under an hour. I caught a whopping 2.
It was not nearly as good as it had been in prior weeks, and we didn't catch a single perch like I had in previous weeks. It was not nearly as good.

Very nice crappie.
Narrows has been dead every time I've fished it lately. Stick to the Snake Arm or the back of Bruneau Arm if you're chasing bass.

has already been some good eating, but more to come..
Good recipe for crappie. Take fillets and dip in egg with milk, then put in canned italian bread crumbs(add some lemon pepper and sea salt), deep fry at 375 degrees until golden brown.
I've tried lots of ways, but these are just good...

Nice fish...and even better pictures...no wonder your name is Crappyslayer! I will have to try that recipie you suggested for Crappies. I ate my 1st and only Crappie and I was disappointed that it was not as good as bluegill or perch. Here is a pic of my 1st Crappie which was just short of 13 inches...I found out that day why they call them slabs and papermouths. Keep up the great work dude...and thanks for your post.

Thats a decent sized crappie you got there... Yes, there is a slight difference in taste between crappie, perch, and bluegill. I find the bluegill to be slightly sweet tasting. They are especially good if you modify my bread crumb recipe to using the blue corn tortilla chips (good for bronco football games). The salty taste of the chips makes for a good tasting bluegill. Perch seems to be kinda in the middle between crappie and bluegill as far as texture and taste.
