Castaic Lagoon
as you can see, it is such a beautiful place for fun and enjoyment. Float tubing is allowed in the Lagoon only. But there is plenty of room for everyone. So........Come on down!!!!!

In the first pic, in the distance, there appears to be a huge area of the water covered with something... what is that? And also, in the first pic, in the water, just to the left of the boat launch, there's something else... any clue what it is? I've got a sneaky suspicion that TubeN2 is playing tricks with my brain!
It is quite a beautiful area... where is it located? Got an extra tube for me?

these are nice pics.[shocked]Did you take them yourself?

What you see in the upper area of the 1st pic, appears to be just some ripple on the lake from the wind. These pics must have been taken in the early morning. There will be a slight breeze from time to time and it generally come in from a one of the small canyons that are part of some of the tributaries. I didn't take any of the photos myself. You can see these photos and a couple more that I did not transfer over on their website. You can also get generall info about the lake as well as directions on how to get there. Actually, just to the left of the boat launch, it looks like a finger print was on the picture. Shame on them for not being more careful! [

Hi tubeN2,
I'm doing a survey of lakes that have live cams and noticed there are a number at Castaic with the address below. The link should be on their home page I guess. I've had to go thru their weather hyperlink on the home page to access the cam too. Don't give up the first time. ha ha
www.castaiclake.com/focl_cam.html (that's an L not a #)
Anglers can check out the view and weather stats even before they go. (if the cam in on) Pretty cool.

Unfortunatley those camera's aren't always there for us to admire the lake.
They are there so they can monitor the lake occupants. I don't blame them. That lake is a drinking water res.

Hi fishfather,
No kiddin'?! ha ha If you haven't already, check out the Diamond Valley Lake live cam! That dude does a live pan of the lake from one end to the other with the camera located at the center point of the lake on top of the bunker er.... building.

I've heard the lake control there is really going to be the tighest about usage and what you bring.
Ever go to Lake Dixon down near San Diego? Nice place years ago but very tight.[unimpressed] Only boats on water were small boats you rented with electric trolling motors and strickly enforced catch limits.
I felt like I was going between east and west germany during the exit exam
]
This lake requires a State fishing license as well as you pay to fish, no private boats or float tubes, etc.
You can rent a row boat and brign your own trolling motor and battery to save $$$[crazy]
Check the link for the rules, etc
