Just a quick note to introduce myself as FP Finneus Polebender AngulusLMbassticus Rex . Although I reside in Oregon and you will mostly find me on the often imitated but never matched Oregon fishing forum I have recently lost a couple members of team Polebender to your great state . This means yes that when I come to visit I will sore lip as many of your bass as possible with my grandson and grandaughter. Do not worry though I am 100% C&R so they will be returned for the most part un harmed only to be tricked again next visit. Hope you all dont mind an out of state basser lookin for some help on LM or SM prospects near Kellog Idaho . Here is the biggest caught recently from the largest of our 3 private ponds here in Oregon caught by a family friend Melody ..Thanks in advance for any assistance hope to find some other bass folks who could put me on some good water when I head over to visit .

Welcome, FP, we are glad to have you anytime. Unfortunately I am from the Southeast corner of the state and can't help you with the bass prospects in the Kellog area.
It would be great to get reports from that area of the state though. It seems that most of the chatty types are down here in the south part of the state. (Large Mouths??) I know we have some members in the north too, if we can get them to speak up....I think they are kind of shy, and need the encouragement of more members. (Small Mouths??)

Welcome to BFT. There are a few southeastern Idahoans who have moved that direction. So I hope you get answers to your questions.

Thanks guys ,at least there are a few of you online over there ! I have heard so much about the beauty and sparse population that makes your state a sportsmans paradise.I look forward to doing my part in helping this lil old forum pick up steam. I am also very interested in some of the other freshwater monsters your waters have that ours dont pike/muskie. For now will have to post adventures from here ,but look to make our first fishing visit to Northern Idaho as soon as the snows melt, will probably come visit in Feb 2012 and do some scouting then, thx again for the welcome.

If you get as far as Kellogg, why not go a bit further and head up to Kootenay Lake. Trout, both Gerrard (Kamploops) and what they still refer to as Dolly Varden. You have a good shot at hooking into a 20 to 25 pounder. Google Gill and Gift in Balfour, BC, Reel Adventure and Kootenay Kingfisher for up-to-date fishing reports and pics guaranteed to make you droool. Whereas Pend Oreille gets worse each year, Kootenay is getting better. The lake is 100 miles long, so you will be lucky to see one or two other boats all day. Winter provides the best fishing, with spring and fall close behind. Summer is poor. They fish with streamers behind planer boards, and also go deep with plugs, flasher and hoochie combos, etc Mike
