ST. PAUL, MN—The Minnesota Department of Natural Resources (DNR) announced a proposal for a protected slot limit of 17 to 21 inches for walleyes and 24 to 36 inches for northern pike on popular Leech Lake. DNR officials say the purpose of experimental regulations is to increase walleye and pike numbers and size by requiring anglers to release more fish.
