Recently I snagged and lost some of my Mepps spinners, and before I buy any more, I was wondering what your favorite spinner is, why, and what kind of species you catch on them.

Panther Martins and Rooster-tails for me. Because that's what I catch the most on. Now that's only in reference to in-line spinners.

I've only used Mepps and Roostertails, and I like the Mepps a ton better. The blade on the roostertail always locks up on me

I don't use spinners any more, but I used to fish exclusively with Panther Martins. I was sold on them the first time I ever saw them being used. A good friend was showing us how to fish them on the Little Walker River in California. As he pulled the Panther Martin out of the river to cast again a 14" Golden Trout (the most beautiful trout I have ever seen) followed it right out of the water and it landed on the bank. Needless to say we kept it. That was over 40 years ago. If I ever went back to using spinners the yellow one with red dots would be the first ones I would buy. Oh those were the days. I remember one time floating down from the train trestle below Big Springs to Mac's Inn. My brother, my cousin and I would pull into a hole and the fisherman below us would say that he had just finished fishing that hole and we wouldn't catch anything. On each fish we caught, which were many that day, we would yell out ( because we were obnoxious teenagers), " Darn it caught another one." We had everyone asking us that day what we were using. Once again it was a 1/4 oz. yellow with red dots Panther Martin. Sorry about reminiscing, but those were fun times..

I use panthermartens the most. Next blue fox then mepps and if i have to roostertail.. i dont like rooster tails for the same reason they never work properly for me!! However ive became very fond of spoon type lures..

There are some very nice inline spinners out in smaller tackle shops I have seen and used. Darn if I can remember the name of them but from an outfit in Colorado I think. That just doesn't help much does it?
I guess what I am trying to say is Mepps and Panthers and Roosters are all great and tried and true but there are some other ones out there to give a look at.

Could it have been these?

I have fished Panther Martin with much success for several years for trout in streams and lakes, but, over the last couple of years I have gone to spinners made here in the good ol' USA! Here are my favorites:
