So a buddy of mine said he would like to try pine creek over thanksgiving break. He said its a trib of the south fork of the snake. I know nothing about it or even if it exists. Can anyone give me info on it and if its worth fishing this time of year. I am under the impression alot of smaller trib streams dont hold alot of fish this time of year. I was told they hold up in bigger water for the winter. I am going off others at this point as this is my first idaho winter at school and am a complete Newbie at this western winter stuff.

If you go to the Swan Valley Store and turn left like you are going to Driggs , you will come to a big bridge that cross a small creek . that's Pine Creek and it runs in the bottom of that canyon for miles . Limit is 6 fish no Cutthroughts . Curt G.

Snow may be pretty deep around it now and much of it is probably icing up. If you come over to check it out and find it tough to fish because of those conditions you do have the south fork to go to.

Thanksgiving break is the unofficial opener for Idaho ice fishing

I would think creek fishing would be tough.

Not going to lie, this time of year you will have a rough go of it up there. Prob be better off hitting up some of the wade able side channels on the SF or something lower down. With the cold and snow anything above 6k feet is going to be tough fishing.
