Well I had the itch today and since Jason and I both lost good fish Sunday I thought I would revisit the spot and see if I could catch the one that got away. My daughter (Netgirl and Photogirl) was with me and I am glad I had her along. She made Dad proud when she netted a LM pushing 4lbs at the boat emoCool emoThanks emoFish The day actually started pretty slow. I wanted to try out a Skeet Reese Jerkbait/TW Rod that I picked up recently from LA at Smokey Mtn Tackle. The rod works great LA but nothing bit on TW even though the bay was loaded with shad and occassional bass busting here and there. I switched to a silver buddy only I made some changes Jason. After losing that nice fish Sunday I pulled out a revo on a short rod with a fast tip and tied on a half ounce SB - with larger hooks this time. I was casting and noticed a swirl about 40 yards from the boat and shad spraying everywhere so I launched the SB and nothing - tried again and nothing - Net girl said to try one more time Dad - dont give up so on the third cast bam! I am hooked up in 2.5 feet of water with about 60 yards of line out! emoDance I am trying to keep the fish from jumping but it goes ballistic several times only this time the hook sticks!! I yelled to my daughter AKA net girl - get the net! Which she did and got it on her first try! I may have to take her with me more often LOL!
