Adam Driver and I have been threatening to get together and go fishing for a while. Our schedules have never lined up until today. I was fired up because the weather conditions and the water conditions looked great. He wanted to meet at 2:00 o'clock. I was able to get there a couple hours earlier so I thought I would get out and try to locate some fish before Adam got there. I tried areas that sometimes produce fish for me and things were pretty slow. Started out fishing an area that drops from 5 feet to 15 feet. Worked it real hard and NADA. Went to a bank that has structure in 14 feet of water and boated a couple spots and a nice 16 inch LM. Decided to try a deep hole (40&#39Wink and marked a lot of fish. Threw the tackle box at them and the only fish boated was a big drum with an attitude. I thought it was a 40lb Blue for a minute. He fought like a champ. I was so proud of him I took his picture. Stopped and talked to Nauticman and Labman to see how they had been doing and got pretty much the same story, not great. Of course they had both caught a smallmouth though.

By this time it was time to pick Adam up at the ramp. We decided to start out fishing below the R/R Bridge. Made a drift or 2 throwing SB's and no fish boated. Ran to a channel bank that has depths of 18'-20'. We were throwing heavy SB's. Flow is perfect and we both think that there has to be some fish there. Bam, Adam sets the hook and lands a nice Brownfish. We work the area hard for another 30 minutes or so to see if any of his buddies are down there and no one else will bite. Oh well. We head down river and fish a drop-off that Nauticman and I like to fish. By now there is a steady rain falling, which is fine... Maybe that will turn on the Brownfish... Half way down the bank I have a good peck, set the hook and feel some good weight. Get pressure, and real down.... Fish is cutting water hard up stream and comes unbuttoned. That was a feeling hurter. Ol' Brownfish wins again... We re-drift the stretch to see if there is a school present and have a bite or 2 but do not boat any fish. Ok, we head to a bank where some fish were earlier in the day and have a little flurry; catch a few spots and another LM. Almost dark and I haven't fished one of my favoreite stretches of shore line. So we run down river and work it good but do not boat any fish. By this time it is dark and time to quit. The ol' brownfish eludes me again... Glad Adam got one.

We had a great time out there even though the numbers were not great. Finished with 1 SM, 2 LM, 11 Spots, and 1 Drum. No cats?

Threw SB's, Jig/Pigs, Tubes, and other soft plastics. Slow movers seemed to be the more consistant choice.

Water temps ranged 55 to 57, flow was 46,000-47,000, and the water was gin clear. I like there to be some stain in the water. That clear water is tough.

SW wind was breezy and it was cloudy with some rain.

All in all great day out with a good freind... Plus got to catch a fish or 2... Not bad...
