Im going to roll two reports into one here. Last weekend (11-13) me and monstercat..having downed the pontoon for wintertime repairs/remodel...broke out ol blue and took her to the water. I actually would rather fish from this boat in the winter time due to the winsheild. Anyway..didnt have time to install any electronics so i was just going on instinct pretty much as we were looking at some new water. We ended up catching 6 fish ranging from 21 to 36 lbs and broke off another really good fish. All these fish came from creek mouths..relatively shallow water...10 to 17 ft im guessing. <br /> Today...11-20. I took my baby girl Taylor. She is 10 now..growing up too fast. She asked me last week if I would take her fishing this weekend and of course I said yes. Fished the same waters today...but the bite was EXTREMELY slow!!! had a couple fish pick it up and drop it but from 10 am to about 430 pm we didnt catch a single catfish. Then..again at the mouth of a creek in shallow water...BAM the clicker started screaming and Taylor took the reins!! She pulled in this 51 Lb beauty all by herself and it was a fighter!!! In the shallow water when they get to the surface they are not at all done fighting. This thing ripped the net to shreds when I got him in it, so time for a new net. Like I kept telling her today...We are having a good day and an awesome time just being together...but you are always just one bite away from a great day. Im glad we waited it out!! We made some GREAT memories together today. gotta love it!!! Both weekends we were fishing with BIG chunks of skipjack herring.
