Wondering if anyone can tell me if there is any ice on Devils Creek or on Daniels yet. Looks like the temps are dropping and we should be getting close.
Come on ICE!

I have no idea and I am guessing not many others know either. Just haven't been out by that way. Judging from the temperatures at my house, I would guess that it isn't fully frozen or safe yet.

After Wed the temp is supposed to drop drastically, so maybe in a week or two.

Thanks for the reply, I sorry to hear the temps have been warm there too. Was hoping it was colder there and the shallower lakes there in Idaho would freeze sooner than here.

I drove to plymouth two days ago and devils was open still no ice to speak of.

I talked to Rodger of Portneuf Outfitters today and he said that others said....... (hearsay!) That Devils, Daniels, and Treasureton are all open, and Chesterfield has partial ice. When I went by Deep Creek a week and a half ago it was completely open too.

Last night was the first below freezing night we have had in almost a week. I am at 5200 ft high which is about the same elevation as many of the reservoirs. Some are in colder pockets, but I still wouldn't expect them to be too much different.

Drove by Devils Sunday and there appeared to be a thin layer of ice on 50% of the lake. Kind of weird looking from the freeway. I am betting after this cold front , could be safe ice by a couple of weeks.

Thanks to all who provided Intel.
I do understand why Idaho folks want to keep the scoop to them selfs and very much appreciate what I am given.
Sure wish thing were different but it seems we all must wait for mother nature to chill out.
I will keep my eye open and give any and all positive information I can, but it seems for this exact moment the only Ice Fish for us in Nothern Utah is to drive south.

Tuesday i went out and fished the pourtneuf (did ok small bwo's) on the way home i took a bit of a detour and looked at chesterfield. its froze over and people have been out on it from the number of holes i saw. Talked to one guy who said he had been there since 12 (it was 5) He had not had a bite and the people who were out before him had no luck either. ice was 3.5-4in think he said. there was one little open spot where the creek dumps in. ice was half clear half white

It is 5 degrees this morning so waters should freeze pretty fast now.

gonna have to drive up to weston this weekend, guaranteed its frozen.

Didn't have time to check weston but devils is 100% open and the the wind is wiping. So I would be surprised if it has anything solid.
