Started early solo, it was cool and windy. Fished a deep dropoff with 1/16
oz. jig, on a 10 count, I caught tarp#61. It was my second cast. Action was slow after that.
Ran a series of docks after that, picking up a few here and there. Overall size of the
crappie today was excellent. Found a dock, where I caught a bunch of nice crappie, they were
holding in 8-10 fow. Used a 1/32 oz. jig with Outlaw Special. The wind was getting bad. I loaded my
boat to put in at another ramp, long runs would be brutal by boat. Picked up David on the way, and
we put in at another ramp. First stop, wind is so bad I cant hold us with trolling motor. We found a more
secluded dock, still plenty of wind though. We hammered em! 12fow. they were hitting on a 3-6 count.
all 12-13 in. crappie. 1/16 oz jigs. When the wind let up to around 20 mph, I went back to my spot,
a dropoff from 10-22 feet deep. The big crappie were there, I just miss a tarp by an 1/8 inch. David gets
one. 13 inchers are the norm. They were suspended 8-12 feet deep. Great day in nasty wind, I love November.
We finished with 56 keeper crappie, David kept 21 to clean.
