Left the house about 5:30 this AM and headed to the Riverpark for some boat ramp fun. Wet my line a little before 6:00 and was getting hits right away from the crappie. The water is so high and the current is making lots of action with crashing water along the banks.
Used a 3" pearl curl-tail grub on a 1/16 jighead. It was the magic combo.
VERY slow, steady retrieve, as slow as I could crank.
The backcurrent would bring my lure right into some brush that is usually above water. Almost every cast *bam* hits and a few misses for the first hour.

I hooked up on something a little bigger and think it might be a Walleye? I took some pics but the sun wasn't up yet so it's dark. The fish is splotchy with a mottled dorsal fin and was nice and fat. I didn't know what the restrictions are so I didn't even measure him and let him go, but he looked tasty.

Overall I caught about 30 crappie, 3 or 4 white bass, a small spot, some yellow stripes, and the walleye(?)
Kept the 4 keeper crappie and 2 good sized white bass.
Went home about 8am
