The title pretty much sums it up. I'm going up and planning on floating it all day. I like going alone, but sometimes it's fun to go with fellow crazies. If you want to tag along, I'd be happy to drive and can also provide a float tube if you'd like (no fins though). Let me know via PM or text me @ 801-641-7641. Let's hope for semi calm winds...

Hit it last weekkend and caught 30 fish, smallest was 19" - hands damn near froze off, but it was worth it. Hoping to slaughter them again. I can also provide flies if you want to try throwing them around. (Found out last week that they work well from a spinning rod with a bubble or with a little weight - even trolling them while heating your hands back up worked.) The fish were absurdly aggressive.

Dave.
Just be careful, there is suppose to be a good storm and heavy winds.

I'm crazy enough to join you but my work demanded otherwise (and I'm the boss so I guess I can blame my more responsible alter ego).

Be sure and let us know how it went.

Sorry for the late post. The fishing was excellent, and the weather was almost as good. I fished just a few bays up from Bryants Fork from my pontoon and had decent success stripping wooly buggers. I netted three, and lost four or five more -- broken knots, grrrrr -- and had a bunch of strikes. The wind was calm for 40% of the day, middle of the road 20% of the day, and hurricane force the other 40%. It was bi-polar and would switch from one to the other within a few minutes. When I got there, there was only 25 feet of open water from the shore to the ice, but within five minutes, the wind had taken the ice as far away as I could see. The actual bay stayed iced, but everything else opened right up. By 4:00 it was simply too cold to stay in the water. I got out and walked the shoreline stripping buggers and from 4:30 to about 9:00pm, I landed another eight fish. All were cutties, except one Rainbow. None of them broke the slot -- how Sad. I would've stayed and fished longer, but ice was forming even as I was fishing and my line kept snagging on floating chunks that were forming rapidly.

I fear my days of floating are at an end. /sigh.

You all missed out!
Do you think there is any chance of launching a boat? What about any safe ice also? I was planning on going Sat.

Nope, I doubt I'll be going again. However, I fished the Jordan today and slaughtered them... Lot's of whities, largemouth, Crappie, and carp -- AND I got my first catfish on the fly. Took a glo bug.
Dude, that is awesome...I would like to try the area you go to...sound interesting.
I am off Mon. Wed and Fri but with Christmas that "can" Change....

^^ LOL

I've been known to send the occasional "Prize Winning Dump" picture to the members of my "Fecal Roster", but I'm pretty sure I didn't send one to you. If I did, consider yourself lucky.

Yours,

Dave.
