Worked well, cant wait to load it up with a heavy rod and some braided line to try for some lake trout. Great option for your deadstick rod. Kids liked it too.

That song really grew on me. Also fun video.

Those must really help in hooking the fish in the jaw, rather than them swallowing the bait.

could you imagin having a line of those set up when a big school of kokes come through? could be pretty6 intense.

You would definitely burn the calories catching them.. That would be fun though.

i Haven't had a fish gut hooked yet. Really looking forward to using it on other species like crappie too. I like that I can adjust it quite a bit. on the crappies I will use a really light rod for a gentle hook set. I'll be jigging one rod and have this set up a few feet away.

Now I just had a visual of one set up real tight and Crappie flying out the ice holes.

I bet you could set up camera and get a funny shot of a bluegill or perch come flying through the hole.

Cool video. Where did you get the music? I have a hard time finding music that doesn't have copyrights issues. My Dad and I tried out the jawjacker for the first time this weekend and I was really impressed. I was a little concerned by the directions, they seemed kinda confusing but after you rig it up its actually really simple. We plan on adding a few more to our ice fishing arsenal. Also I am uploading a video to youtube right now of my Brother and I harvesting a couple of elk this year. I'll post a link under the hunting section when its done, but you should be able to find it by searching for Tex Creek elk hunt 2011 on youtube. I found some funky music for it as long as youtube doesn't pull it for copyright infringement.

From what I can tell, it looks like much of the setup is plastic. So my question is, does it look like it could break very easily?

They seem to get thrown around a bit in the excitement when a fish is hooked. For 40$, you would hope it would be made of something a bit tougher, but maybe it's not an issue.

With reasonable care I think they will last a long time. If it is really cold and you step on them.....they will probably be a problem. The construction seems to be pretty good quality.

The biggest problem is keeping the trigger mechanism dry.
