I have recieved some early Christmas blessings. We had our work party Friday night and we had door prizes and the department I'm in scored real well, which also included me with a fancy new work light.

Then last night (Sat) we had our Magic Valley Fly Fishers Christmas party. We always have a bucket raffle, which I purchase a few ticket for and Gloria and I put them in our choosen buckets and then there is also a Custum fly rod that is donated by JC Custom Rods from here in town. The choices were good from many tied flies and well framed quality photos by one of our members who is really captureing some awesome photos of our special cutthroat here in Idaho and other special donations.

The JC 5 pc 7'6" 3/4 fly rod was the top prize for the eveneing and yes, I was blessed with the winning ticket! I am so excited I don't know how to really put it in words. In my collection of gear I have a wonderfull Pflueger 1492 Medalist, which is just made for that size of rod. I haven't fished any creeks for a long time but now I have a setup just for that as well as some of those ever fighting blue gill. Thank you Lord.

As well as the Lord I need to thank a new friend I met through Craigslist, Stan, who came down from Inkom to purchase some camper jacks I had for sale there as it was his money that I spent on the tickets.

I have no fish tale but I am pleased with my weekend. I need some ice that is not so far away or more time to be able to go. I am sooo far behind in the contest!

Congratulations! I am so very happy for you. It couldn't go to a better guy.

The 3/4 wt will be a lot of fun. It is amazing what a smaller rod can catch and do. You can pull some pretty nice fish in on one. Just don't figure on casting large bass bugs into the wind.

If you need an inexpensive line for that rod, I have bought some of these factory seconds lines from these guys.

So far they have been good lines mostly with color imperfections. At $10 a piece you can try a couple.
