Most of the north side is frozen. I tried to walk on it today and it cracked so then I chickened out there's prob about an inch in most places if u gave a few days It might be good to walk on in the harbors...

I checked Lindon this morning and it was only about 3/4 to 1" thick and fully capped in the harbor. Yesterday, there were still some open spots. So maybe in 3-4 days it should be good enough.

If the harbor in Lindon is covered, even thinly, so the wind can't stir the water much, and the temps stay as low as they are, it's just a matter of days..

cool guys your getting excited to get out there. ill see yall on the hard deck.

Lindon like any of the harbors can be smokin hot one day and barren the next. There are usually more than a few whities to keep you interested. If the ice is too thin there are also plenty of docks, sit on the dock punch a hole and fish. Bluegill and crappie can also be very good around the docks in the early season. The success rate can be very good.

I checked out Lincoln Beach this morning, the whole south end is capped with about 1" and 1 1/2" in the harbor still a bit thin to get on. Chatted with a guy fishing of the docks and no fish all morning. Another few nights of cold and it should hit the 3" mark.

Hello,
Being new to this, I just want to say hi and I had a few minutes to check the gates on Utah lake yesterday and the was about 2-3 inches of ice on there. There was some one walking out on there and it seemed to be good. Thanks,

Yeah, never done well on the ice at Lindon, tho I keep hearing about nice bluegills, etc..
But I have had day in the spring/summer where I and other just murdered a mixwd bag of whities, bluegill, and crappies, with a nice cat or two tossed in..

Drove by the lake today at lunch. It is pretty much capped, all over. The main lake will blow off if there is much wind, but the harbors are capped and will get thicker and thicker. There were some pressure ridges forming off of AF and Lindon harbors. Lots of people on the docks. If it stays cold, it will get thicker fast now.
I checked Provo harbor both Tues. & Wed. on my lunch break. Tuesday was half an inch all over inside the dikes aside from one small spot the ducks had kept open out at the end of the dike. Wednesday you could see where someone had docked a boat off the second ramp and broke a trail through the ice, but the whole lake around there had capped overnight with about a half inch, inside by the docks was over an inch. I suspect by Sat. there will be 3' of clear ice inside the harbor.

Not closed, and full of people. Watch where you walk when on the ice. There are a crap ton of holes out there.
